Patellar tendon injuries

Patellar tendon injuries are very common in jumping sports like basketball and volleyball but also occur in football players. The most common injury is generally called patellar tendinitis although this term is losing favour as the 'itis' suffix denotes an inflammatory condition and this injury is now considered to not be caused by excessive inflammation. Patellar tendinopathy is a better term.
